CLWG Conference 2024 – 5 & 6 October

We’re fast approaching the traditional CLWG Conference weekend, and there are a small number of sessions on offer. Now would be a great time to sign up if you can make either day. Here’s the link to the dynamic version of the programme on Google Drive https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E-AO8rPAJAgFAPCiDbCj9msUgl-fitxmTJxBPQjocu8/edit?usp=drivesdk

CLWG Members in full flow…

Note that many of the sessions will be hybrid, so even if you can’t make it to the hall in Anerley you can still join in for at least some of it.

CLWG Conference 2024 Day 1

Gather, chat and setup from 1130.

Nemawashi by Dave Boundy 1230-1430

Design session on the Japanese sub-game of my Two Brush Strokes Megagame. Nemawashi means “a semi-formal but systematic and sequential consensus building procedure in Japan by which the approval of a proposed idea or project is sought from every person in a significant organizational position.” and this is what I am trying to reflect by a card system.

An in person design session for 2 or more people.

BricksKrieg meets Tank Duel by Jim Wallman 1430-1530

Another run of the classic tank fighting game with some inevitable tweaks to the game design. Using models from the BricksKrieg range.

4+ players

Never Mind the Billhooks by Andrew Hadley 1430-1700

Wars of the Roses battle using toy soldiers (if there’s demand).

2+ players

Annual Business Meeting 1730-1755

Hybrid session with our usual ruthless efficiency.

CLWG Conference 2024 Day 2

Gather, chat and setup from 1130.

Chinese Logistics Game 1230-1430

A design session to help finalise design for this game. Hybrid session using discord https://discord.gg/hTaUckPt

Fuller’s War 1230-1430

War as envisioned in the 1930’s by Fuller et. al. This is a design session on a rather madcap view of warfare.

Any number of players

Lit By Another Sun by James Kemp 1430-1700

A design session/playtest for a sub-set of a megagame about murky factionalism on a new colony to be run in Scotland.

This is a second run, but trying to do it differently. I’d like to test the science/exploration aspects of the game, and possibly also the extraction side too (which also involves exploring).

Ideally 3+ players.

More Sessions?

If you are planning to attend do please add your name and any offer to Google sheet. If you’re offering a session do please do a teaser write up for everyone in advance. I’ll add links/update this post when I see other relevant posts.

NB even if you aren’t a regular member of CLWG you are welcome to come along this weekend. Either in person or online.
