Lego Tank Duel
Onside report by Jim
Meeting 4 October 2024
I recently came across a range of lego-adjacent models called Brickskrieg. These are self-assmbled military miniatures, roughly the same scale as 15mm.
As a long time fan of lego this was instantly attractive and I bought three Panzer IVs and three Cromwells ‘just because’. Having got them and puzzling out how to assemble the
tanks from a bag of bits it seem obvious that I’d do a game. The Brickskrieg site has a set of rules to go with them, but I decided to ignore all that and do a double-blind tank duel style game with lego buildings and a screen separating two duplicate models. Not having time to do a lot of preparation I thought I’d put this on as a quick ‘filler’ between sessions.
The forces were Germans (Terry and Sophie on line and James in the room) versus British (Evan, Andrew and Dave).
The German side were very much on the offensive from the start, and so pretty well ran on to the guns of the British Cromwells who knocked out all three Panzers for one Cromwell damaged by an accidental ramming from a Panzer.
It probably took slightly longer to lay that to set up, and I’d be interested to hear what the participants thought.
I think this is potentially an entertaining game, and I do plan to do more using the Brickskrieg models – maybe even using their own rule, at least to test them out. I think it might also be interesting to run something for an on-line session at some point depending on whether we expand out CLWG online gaming in the future.
