Traditionally the editor of Milmud awards the Golden Chestnut to the CLWG member that has contributed the most to Milmud over the course of the year. The Golden Chestnut isn’t about volume so much as quality. That said, now that I can record readers, then I’m using the volume of readership as a measure of quality when awarding the Golden Chestnut 2016!

But first, here are some blog stats for milmud since last year’s CLWG Conference.

Milmud Stats for 2015-16

Milmud had its busiest day so far on 20th June 2016, which resulted in 178 page views from just over 100 visitors. Over the year as a whole we had 1,631 page views. This is OK, but not brilliant, I have four pages on my personal blog that outperformed Milmud combined in the same time period.

Over the course of the year 26 articles were published from 9 authors, of which four contributed 20 articles and 85% of the page views between them. As patterns go this is not surprising, but there ought to have been more contributions because every member is expected to write at least one milmud article every year.

Contributors

The following CLWG members contributed articles (in no particular order), Becky, Jim, Nick, Andy Hadley, Ben Moores, Bernie Ganley, Bruce Walton, Mukul, me.

If you want to contribute please see the Write for Milmud page.

Milmud’s Top Ten Articles of 2015-16

Andrew Hadley wins

So the Golden Chestnut 2016 goes to Andrew Hadley. He holds the record for the most page views in a single day (110 on his post on megagame taxonomy) on 20th June 2016. He also contributed the highest number of posts (I don’t count, it’s the job of the editor to produce material for publication). So its a well deserved Golden Chestnut for Andy.
